local drivers/companies or can at least
recommend a reputable service to you. There are taxis available
at the airport, and you will find the Gran
Canaria airport taxis on a rank outside of each
of the three main arrival zones.
On your return to the
airport the taxi drivers will drop you off
outside the departures hall.
They are white and with a
different colour on the roof depends of which
city the taxies are from. Other signs that might
help you recognize a taxi are the letters SP
(meaning 'Servicio Público') and a green light
on top or in the front windscreen. At certain
times of day, (for example 19.00 - 22.00), is
it impossible to go for 30 seconds without passing
an available taxi. Other times (e.g.. after
midnight) you might have to walk to a main road
or taxi rank, but you still won't have to wait
long.
Taxi
drivers are very proud of their cars, which are
always spotless. They are less likely to pick
you up if you are wearing fetish gear and won't
take you at all if you're covered in sand.
This
is the quickest but most expensive option. Costs
vary according to your final destination.
If you are in a group of
more than 4 people or are travelling with kids
it would be worth booking private Gran Canaria
airport transfers. The normal taxis can only
carry four people at a time and they very rarely
have any kind of child seats. The private
transfer company that we recommend are able to
supply child safety seats on request.
Let us
take the headache out of transportation. Your
driver will greet you with your name on a sign
board when you arrive, and provide friendly,
reliable round trip private transfer to your
destination. No waiting or luggage charges.
On
outbound flights, your driver will meet you at
your hotel or any other meeting point and
transport you directly to the terminal. -
