Markets

Almost every city has their own market, many of them are on Sundays but there are also other markets every day of the week. Here you can find all the traditional meals, local handcrafts, clothes and all kinds of things. And the best is that it's much cheaper to buy it here than in any other places.

The most popular is the Sunday market in Teror, where locals from all over the island come and there are not so many tourists here. If you want to go to this city, go on a Sunday so you can see the market too. If you're not going to Teror there are also markets in places like Mogán, Puerto de Mogán, Arguineguín and Telde in the south. See calendar below.

On the Markets you can buy what ever you want, but rest assure that 98% of what you see from electronics and leather,  is pirated editions. And it often is impossible to notice the difference, if you don't have the original item besides you.

In the big centres in Puerto Rico, Playa del Ingles and Maspalomas, it is often Indian who owns the shops, you have to remember to haggle the prise, as you often can reduce the prise to half of where they started.

Don't bring more money than what is necessary, or keep an eye on your values, because there are much people - and not everyone is honest.

Don't be cheated.

Electronics
When buying electronics (
video cameras, digital cameras, Mobil telephones and computer games ) we recommend the shops named VISANTA. Here they are honest and tell you about the guarantee, you can take out on the products. Remember to get an receipt and  and remember to have the guarantee ticket stamped. - and hide both items.  - Visit  their home-page and and compare product and prise from home. www.visanta.es

You should control the marking to be sure.  It is a good idea to haggle about the prices, as it often is possible to buy things for under half price of where it started.
